The PT Maintenance Training Tool Room Clerk & Lab Assistant supports the instructional processes of the Maintenance Training department by maintaining tool room policies and procedures and serves as a lab assistant responsible for facilitating activities as it relates to student learning and development.
Essential Functions

  • Implement policies and procedures in the Moody Aviation Operations Manual as required.
  • Participate in annual policy review meetings as requested.
  • Identify and present policy and procedure issues during department staff meetings as requested.
  • Maintain and enforce tool room policies and procedures, including check-out and student arrival and departure chit system.
  • Interface with stockroom to maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Organize supplies and materials.
  • Coordinate student cleaning assignments.
  • Manage resources used in maintenance training, including aircraft, engine stands, training aids, machine shop equipment, consumables, lab spaces and classroom scheduling, and tool room equipment.
  • Encourage student development, attend group briefings, refer students to staff for counsel, and assist with student evaluation as requested.
  • Provide technological support, including data library software and subscriptions.
  • Implement training curriculum in assigned areas.
  • Grade student lab projects and performance.
  • Leads lab project demonstrations and discussion.
  • Assist in distribution of student tools and assist with lab preparation for technical Evaluations as requested.
  • Participate in maintenance technician update and planning meetings.
  • Perform related and special duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certificates
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software products and iPad
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years of Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) experience

This job operates in a shop environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment as well as specialized aircraft maintenance tools and equipment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, and type. This position will frequently stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle, finger or feel and reach with hands and arms. This position is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This is a part-time position that typically is scheduled 28 hour per week. This position is not expected to travel.
