A recognized pharmaceutical company in Massachusetts has an excellent short-term contract position awaiting a new Laboratory Operations Technician II with their team in Woburn.

About the Opportunity:

  • Dates: October 28, 2024 - December 31, 2024

Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Equipment Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, such as analytical instruments, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers
    • Coordinate equipment repairs and service with external vendors when necessary
  • Inventory Management
    • Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and reagents, including ordering, receiving, and organizing inventory
    • Keep accurate records of stock levels and usage
  • Safety Compliance
    • Ensure that laboratory safety protocols and procedures are followed by all personnel
    • Conduct safety inspections, maintain safety data sheets, and participate in safety training programs
  • Assistance in Experiments
    • Prepare laboratory materials, solutions, and reagents as required for experiments and research projects
    • Assist the Researchers and Scientists in setting up experiments and data collection
  • Documentation
    • Maintain detailed and organized records of equipment maintenance, inventory and safety procedures
    • Assist in preparing reports and documentation related to laboratory operations
  • Waste Management
    • Properly dispose of hazardous waste and ensure compliance with waste disposal regulations and guidelines
  • Training and Mentoring
    • Provide guidance and training to junior laboratory staff on equipment usage and laboratory best practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant Scientific field or equivalent Laboratory experience
  • Proven experience in Laboratory Operations and Equipment Maintenance
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Software
