A recognized pharmaceutical company in Massachusetts has an excellent short-term contract position awaiting a new Laboratory Operations Technician II with their team in Woburn.
About the Opportunity:
- Dates: October 28, 2024 - December 31, 2024
Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, such as analytical instruments, centrifuges, and spectrophotometers
- Coordinate equipment repairs and service with external vendors when necessary
- Inventory Management
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and reagents, including ordering, receiving, and organizing inventory
- Keep accurate records of stock levels and usage
- Safety Compliance
- Ensure that laboratory safety protocols and procedures are followed by all personnel
- Conduct safety inspections, maintain safety data sheets, and participate in safety training programs
- Assistance in Experiments
- Prepare laboratory materials, solutions, and reagents as required for experiments and research projects
- Assist the Researchers and Scientists in setting up experiments and data collection
- Documentation
- Maintain detailed and organized records of equipment maintenance, inventory and safety procedures
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation related to laboratory operations
- Waste Management
- Properly dispose of hazardous waste and ensure compliance with waste disposal regulations and guidelines
- Training and Mentoring
- Provide guidance and training to junior laboratory staff on equipment usage and laboratory best practices

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant Scientific field or equivalent Laboratory experience
- Proven experience in Laboratory Operations and Equipment Maintenance
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and procedures
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Laboratory Software
