SCOPE OF ROLE
Reporting to the Director, Grants and Fund Development, the Manager, Grants is responsible for grant writing and management activities for foundation and corporate grants. The Manager, Grants will work with leaders and teams across the agency to write grant applications and reports, manage post-award activities, and demonstrate the success of Signature Health's programs through data reporting. The Manager, Grants will assist with a variety of government grant reporting and compliance activities, research and strategize new funding opportunities, and manage the department's database and daily operations.
HOW YOU'LL SUCCEED
  • Serve as Signature Health's grant writer for foundation and corporate grants, collaborating with service line leaders to develop compelling content for grant applications though storytelling, data, and persuasive writing.
  • Submit grants in a timely manner ensuring submissions contain all required information, including letters of intent, narratives, budgets, and other attachments.
  • Collaboratively, with other departments, lead post-award management activities for private grants including outcomes tracking, compliance with funders' requirements, promotion of grant funding, correspondence with funders, and preparation of reports.
  • Manage renewal applications, data tracking, reports, and compliance for local and state government grants; assist with components of larger government grant applications as needed.
  • Demonstrate the success of Signature Health's programs to funders using data from the organization's electronic health record and other reporting tools.
  • Coordinate frequently with finance department staff to prepare grant budgets, monitor spending and prepare budget reports.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify funding opportunities aligned with Signature Health's programs and strategic priorities. Recommend new funders for cultivation.
  • Use Grantseeker grants management system and SharePoint to create content library; maintain a document library; track and report on progress status of applications, reports, and other deadlines; and monitor calendar to ensure timely submission of required information.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices in grant management and trends in the nonprofit and FQHC healthcare sectors through reading, research, participation in seminars and other educational opportunities; recommends new/updated grant management strategies as appropriate.
  • Monitor and improve grants management workflow processes and procedures; transforms and oversees the continual improvement of grants management operational systems, processes and policies including automation of processes where possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Business, English, Journalism, Public Administration, or Public Health preferred.
  • 3-5+ years' experience in grant writing for a nonprofit or public organization.
  • Experience in healthcare field preferred.
  • Experience in database management and grant research preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office/clinical work environment.
  • While hours of operation are generally standard, flexibility to work evenings and extended hours may be required.
  • Requires periods of sitting, standing, telephone, and computer work.
  • Hearing: adequate to hear clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
  • Speaking: adequate to speak to clients or patients in person, over the telephone or through telehealth technology.
  • Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
  • Physical effort required: occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 15 pounds, unassisted.
  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens while performing job duties.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements, standing, walking, squatting and sitting, with some lifting, pushing and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular workday.
  • Sufficient dexterity to operate a PC and other office equipment.
