**Job Title:** Registered Nurse
**Job Specialty:** PCU RN - Medicine Specialty Step Down
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** 3x12 Hr Nights
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of experience; Must have Step Down experience
**License:** Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
**Certifications:** Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
**Must-Have:** Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program; Good verbal and written communication skills; Basic computer skills
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care to a diverse patient population with health problems ranging from simple to complex under general supervision.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician order on assigned patients.
- Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care and interact effectively with family and patients in sharing care plans during hospitalization and discharge.
- Inform patients and family of hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff and perform other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques.
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
