Job Overview
We are in search of a seasoned and skilled commercial leader to take on the role of Head of Sales, US Ophthalmology. This position presents a unique opportunity to lead the US sales organization for a premier ophthalmic product and to contribute significantly to the advancement of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, ensuring alignment with the company’s mission and cultural values while fostering professional growth.
  2. Develop and implement training initiatives that establish your team as authoritative figures in the field of geographic atrophy and its treatment.
  3. Monitor sales performance metrics, including strategic accountability for long-term success within a competitive landscape.
  4. Utilize data analysis to guide the optimal deployment of sales resources across the nation.
  5. Encourage collaboration among cross-functional teams to achieve performance objectives in alignment with the established brand strategy.
  6. Create and refine processes that facilitate successful product launches and ensure effective business planning, performance management, and communication.
  7. Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders in the ophthalmology sector, as well as within practice management.
  8. Foster a culture of compliance that emphasizes values centered on patients and physicians while maintaining strong external stakeholder relationships.
  9. Uphold strict adherence to corporate policies while pursuing sales objectives.
  10. Oversee budget management with a focus on responsible resource allocation.
  11. Stay up-to-date with market trends in the retina domain and offer strategic recommendations to capitalize on market opportunities.

  2. A minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with a proven history of successfully building and leading sales teams through product launches. Experience in ophthalmic diseases, particularly in retina, is desirable. Knowledge of a buy-and-bill environment is an asset.
