The Prince George's County Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department is currently seeking qualified, experienced, and motivated applicants to fill a Risk Management Coordinator position, grade H18, within its Health and Wellness Division.
About the Position:
This is an entry-level professional and administrative position providing important assistance to relieve the Manager of administrative detail. Routine and complex duties and responsibilities are performed to provide highly skilled assistance to the Health & Wellness Office. The incumbent is considered an "Essential" employee and may be required to report for work during natural/manmade disasters and during special operations as assigned. "Essential" employees are expected to report or remain at work when other County employees are granted Administrative Leave.

The Prince George's County benefits plan year is from January 1 to December 31.

Examples of Work
- Performs a full range of professional administrative responsibilities and tasks for the Health & Wellness Office that contribute to the operating effectiveness of the Department.
- Provides exceptional internal and external customer service related to functions managed in the Health & Wellness Office (HWO).
- Coordinates internal communication process to ensure that staff is aware of departmental policies and procedures and general information changes.
- Provides a full range of professional administrative support to the Health and Wellness Manager.
- Researches and analyzes information to make recommendations regarding office procedures and processes.
- Monitors the drug test notification program to ensure proper notification of results are provided timely and accordingly.
- Consults with employees, personnel officials, Managers, Office of Human Resources Management, and Office of Law regarding personnel actions and procedures.
- Serves as a case manager for all personnel on light duty, disability leave, and FMLA.
- Monitors driving records for all career, civilian, and volunteer members who are authorized to drive vehicles under the authority of Prince George's County Government.
- Administers all Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) Red Flag Program procedures for the Fire/EMS Department.
- Coordinates data processing, statistical reports, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Graduation from college with major course work in Liberal Arts, one of the Social Sciences, or Public or Business Administration.
An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
