Summary
The Vice President of Operations is responsible for driving organic growth at HVP partner practices. The VP will seek to understand and realize outpatient opportunities emerging for independent, outpatient cardiovascular care – both on an individual practice level and across HVP’s national portfolio. The VP will work closely to influence physicians and their clinical teams towards expanding care delivered to existing patients while designing and managing new patient referral marketing programs.
HVP’s value creation for its physician partners is largely dependent on the ability to accelerate growth in both volume (referral market expansion penetration) and improved patient outcomes. This is a role with critical responsibilities and points of coordination with HVP partner practices (physicians and non-clinical teammates), third party service providers, and other colleagues on the HVP management team.
Essential Responsibilities
Organic Growth Strategies
- Create a portfolio of prioritized growth initiatives, including service line development and clinical workflow improvements in order to optimize and expand care delivery capabilities within each of the MSO’s practices.
- Lead the development of initiative pro formas to rationalize and support resource (human or financial) deployment for key initiatives – track initiative performance v. plan.
- Develop and report performance data regularly to reinforce successes and pinpoint opportunities for improvement at a practice and physician level.
- Support practice growth and succession planning through identifying and cultivating relationships with cardiovascular clinicians in targeted markets and sub-specialties.
- Complement and manage retained search projects for new physician recruitment.
- Support the onboarding and accelerated ramp of new physicians to HVP partner practices.
- Support M&A initiatives through identifying incremental growth opportunities per targeted practice and market; accelerate and amplify value creation post-transaction by building and integrating organic growth plans.
- Work with a variety of OEM and service providers across HVP platform to support implementation of new service lines or clinical offerings.
- Serve as a member of HVP’s management team, including regular participation and contributions to strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational development processes at a corporate level.
Essential Skills
- Strategic thinking to deliver growth and competitive advantage in a variety of healthcare markets.
- Marketing and brand acumen; understanding of patient referral dynamics and influences.
- Specialty-specific understanding of practice growth levers for multi-disciplinary CV practices.
- Communication and presence, especially with physicians, with ability to develop relationships easily.
- Experience and ability to relate with local business operators, facilitating execution of growth initiatives.
- Ability to be detail-oriented and multitask across several simultaneous projects.
- Business acumen and comfort with the complexity of physician practice operations.
- Ability to make prudent and effective decisions, on your feet, quickly and clearly.
Education And Experience
- At least ten (10) years in healthcare operations, with direct exposure to physicians.
- Demonstrated experience in physician practice management, preferably with independent groups, or partnership transactions with physicians.
- Strong preference for experience in cardiology or vascular surgery; understanding of the portfolio of cardiovascular indications and outpatient care modalities available.
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Business Administration; MBA a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility: Manage local practice administrative teams, responsibility to local physician boards.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily a desk position, requiring sitting longer hours at the computer typing.
Days/Hours
This is a full-time position, the schedule of which is determined by the Supervisor. Can work varying or longer schedules, if needs require.
Dress Attire Required: Determined by MSO management.
Travel: Local and national travel will be required; a minimum of 2 days a month expected.
Other Duties: As assigned.
