Job Title : Certified Phlebotomist
Job Type : Full Time
Location : Martinez VA Outpatient Clinic, Martinez, CA 94553
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Duties:

1. Verify patient identity by confirming two (2) patient identifiers (name, date of birth, and/or social security number) before collecting specimens.
2. Perform venipuncture following published laboratory procedures.
3. Collect adequate and properly labeled specimens.
4. Perform waived and/or non-waived testing.
5. Process specimens for testing and/or shipment to another laboratory.

Qualifications:

1. Certification: Must hold and maintain a current certificate by the State of California as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
2. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting.
3. Health Tests: Current within one (1) year tuberculosis testing, rubella testing, and immunizations.
