A Day in the Life of the Business Development Manager – Robotic Lawnmowers
The Business Development Manager will lead the establishment and growth of new cutting-edge robotic lawnmowers in the U.S. They will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to convert U.S. market share from traditional push mowing to automated robotic mowing while working closely with the Head of Gardena, North America and PD/PM leadership to identify appropriate sales targets and then lead specific initiatives to achieve these targets.
What are the requirements for this position?
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study
  • 5+ years of experience in sales or marketing with a proven record of business growth
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time including international travel
    • Current Passport (or ability to get one within 60 days of hire)
  • Self-motivated, intense entrepreneurial spirit, people skills, and effective communication skills

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Gardena Robotics Business Unit and the Head of Gardena, N.A. to develop a strategy for launching robotic mowers in the U.S. and establishing Gardena as the leader in robotic mowing in the U.S.
  • Work with tireless determination to put plans in place to ensure that every customer has a 5-star experience with Robotic Mowing
  • Deliver on sales targets and passionately seek strong YOY sales growth
  • Develop a network of partners and clients that can help promote the product
  • Work closely with the Gardena Head of Marketing to develop and deliver messaging that will best reach the target consumer groups identified
  • Develop relationships with key retail partners and seek to partner together to build the robotic mower movement
  • Work with marketing to utilize influencers, social media, and other digital platforms to drive awareness and sales
  • Be a passionate ambassador for robotic mowers within the lawn and garden industry
  • Actively collaborate and participate in providing product feedback with the Gardena PD/PM teams that will help guide development specific for the U.S. market.
  • Provide timely product forecasts to planning and operations and ensure inventory is managed appropriately
  • Develop and manage a budget specific to robotic business development
  • Regularly present progress updates to senior management, including important sales and customer satisfaction KPI’s
