**Job Title:** Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical
**Job Specialty:** Medical Surgical RN
**Job Duration:** 15 weeks
**Shift:** Night - 3x12 - 7pm to 7am (36 Hours per week)
**Guaranteed Hours:** 36 hours per week
**Experience:** Minimum 1 year
**License:** Current RN License issued by the State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
**Certifications:** Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
**Must-Have:**
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
- Basic computer skills.
**Job Description:**
- Provide nursing care in a hospital setting to a range of patients with diverse health issues.
- Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments; note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients.
- Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatment.
- Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients, observe physiological manifestations, and intervene when necessary.
- Administer medication as prescribed. Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Deliver competent patient care.
- Interact with family and patients to share the care plan both in the hospital and at the time of discharge.
- Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
- Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
- Delegate tasks to support staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
