Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance: Oversee the accurate preparation and timely filing of all tax returns, including federal, state, and local taxes, while minimizing tax liabilities.
Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to enhance our tax position, minimize tax risks, and identify opportunities for tax savings.
Financial Reporting: Provide expert guidance on tax implications for financial reporting purposes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Audit Support: Manage tax audits and inquiries by tax authorities, collaborating with external auditors and legal counsel as needed.
Team Leadership: Develop, lead and mentor the tax department, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for team members.
Research and Analysis: Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, conducting research and analysis to assess their impact
Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients within the organization to understand their tax needs, offer expert advice, and build strong client relationships.
Tax Compliance Reviews: Conduct internal reviews to ensure the accuracy and completeness of tax compliance processes.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in private and 5 years’ experience home office tax management.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance.
Proven experience in tax planning, strategy development, and implementation.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and client-facing skills.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
