Summary

Northern Trust is excited to meet our future Cloud Solutions Architect with a Microsoft Azure focus. Day to day, this person will be responsible for the architecture, design, and leadership of public cloud initiatives across multiple business units including the completion of solution design phase technical artifacts for all architecturally significant projects. While a truly successful candidate will be able to create of cloud adoption plans, cloud service designs, and operationalize of those services, this role entails so much more. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience with Azure Cloud Computing
  • 10+ years of professional experience working as an Enterprise Architect, Solutions Architect
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to author and present materials ranging from detailed technical specifications to high-level presentations.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Demonstrates extensive abilities and a proven record of success as a team leader, including:

  • Knowledge of application security and secure software development practices
  • Hands-on technical experience in designing, building and securing Azure services
  • Experience building road maps, reference architectures, patterns, project planning/reporting and management concepts, methodologies, tools, standards and procedures
  • Experience with assessment, implementation, optimization, and documentation of broad set of security technologies and processes such as data protection, cryptography, key management, identity and access management, systems security, network security within IaaS, PaaS and SaaS environments and CI/CD pipeline tooling and deployments
  • Working knowledge of Github or Gitlab
  • Experience working in DevOps environment with demonstrated knowledge of IaC using Terraform
  • Experience working with development teams on cloud infrastructure and DEVOPS engineers on the design and build of automated solutions
  • Experience in configuration management across multi-cloud platforms
  • Enterprise Architecture activities driving service roadmaps, strategic planning, and optimization in Azure
  • Documenting Platform Reference Architectures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and performing knowledge transfer to team and others
  • Displaying skills in TCP/IP, routing protocols, switching, IPsec and SSL VPNs, load balancing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, packet analysis, etc.
  • Managing network services including, but not limited to: VPN, Azure firewall, Azure Front Door, App Gateway, load balancing, and DNS
  • Designing, implementing and maintaining network infrastructure in multi-region and multi-cloud environments
  • Understanding of network security design including segmentation, encryption, logging and monitoring. Experience in CIDR, sub-netting, Express Route, Transit Gateway, Hub and Spoke architecture
  • Knowledge of securing Kubernetes, Docker Containers, Serverless environments
  • Helping to triage incidents in stage and production environments with our cloud operations team
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management technologies and integration with Azure
  • Current Azure Certifications preferred but not required
