Responsibilities:

  1. Advise DREG on all real estate and legal matters, including acquisitions, financing, development & construction, disposition, compliance, investments, joint ventures, litigation, leasing, and property management.
  2. Create policies and procedures for the firm's legal and ethical conduct.
  3. Advise senior management on all compliance breaches & issues.
  4. Develop a compliance work plan that is unique to firm characteristics.
  5. Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify potential compliance issues.
  6. Develop and deliver compliance training programs to employees.
  7. Investigate & resolve all compliance violations.
  8. Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
  9. Perform regular compliance audits.
  10. Oversee the preparation and ongoing maintenance of all applicable regulatory registrations and filings.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 7 years of experience in a commercial real estate firm, private equity firm, investment bank, or financial institution as a Chief Compliance Officer, Assistant Chief Compliance Officer, or General Counsel.
  2. At least 3 years of experience with real estate law.
  3. Cross-border legal experience.
  4. A bachelor’s degree in economics, business, finance, real estate, or other related fields.
  5. A law degree from a reputable institution or university.
  6. Extremely detail-oriented.
  7. Very strong communication skills.
  8. Strong leadership skills and executive presence.
