The Health Sciences Division is currently accepting applications for part-time Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) Instructors.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Select and organize course material consistent with student learning outcomes, student level, program philosophy, and program unifying theme.
  2. Choose classroom teaching methodologies appropriate to student level and course content material.
  3. Monitor student attainment of student learning outcomes and the degree to which knowledge and skills have been attained and applied.
  4. Provide effective class and clinical student supervision and evaluate student progress in those environments.
  5. Promote an environment that is conducive to effective teaching, learning, and student learning outcomes.
  6. Maintain student and classroom records (e.g. attendance, census, grades).
  7. Advise and assist students in the attainment of their educational goals.
  8. Work collaboratively and effectively with other adjunct and division faculty, classified staff, community members, facility liaisons and student workers.
  9. Participate in staff development and continuing education activities which maintain currency and competency in the field of emergency medical technology and teaching.
  10. Seek involvement in student and community activities, campus governance and professional activities that promote the program's courses and curriculum.

Minimum Requirements:

Any Bachelor's or higher AND two years of experience in emergency medical technology and any certificates or license required to do that work OR any Associate's degree AND any six years of experience in emergency medical technology AND any certificate or license required to do that work OR the equivalent.
