Job Description
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services' (Iowa HHS) Division of Public Health, Bureau of Health Statistics is seeking a Reception Window Manager (Secretary 2).
Summary:
Under general supervision of the Deputy State Registrar and Chief of the Bureau of Health Statistics, function as the Iowa HHS Lucas Building Reception Area and Health Statistics Window Manager to provide oversight to the Bureau of Health Statistics front window staff as well as serve as the main contact for all visitor access for Iowa HHS programs in the Lucas State Office Building.
Responsibilities:
Lead the reception window team in responding to in-person visitors and serve as the main contact person to route visitors throughout the building. Administer and maintain a robust visitor access process and maintain inventory records of entry and exit points of all HHS visitors. Answer the main reception area phone line. Review the daily workload of the front window clerk specialists and provide guidance to assure completion of assignments. Evaluate and resolve window operation issues associated with front window work assignments and staffing. Serve as non-supervisory support staff to the Bureau Chief of Health Statistics and the Data Surveillance Unit.

Experience equal to two years of full-time general office work, one year of which must have involved secretarial or related administrative support duties;
OR
post high school course work in an accredited secretarial, business, or closely related curriculum may be substituted for the required experience on a month-for-month basis;
OR
completion of thirty (30) semester (or equivalent) hours of undergraduate college level course work may be substituted for the one year of required general office experience;
OR
certification from the State of Iowa Administrative Assistant Certificate Program will substitute for six months of the required experience;
OR
employees with current continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes the equivalent of one year of full-time work as a Secretary 1.
