In search of an exceptional candidate to join our team at the senior accountant / junior manager level. Our core client base is the entertainment industry – actors, directors, producers, writers, studio executives, musicians, commercial production companies and more – with a variety of other high net worth individuals and successful businesses. For a majority of our clients, we function as a full back office, taking care of every aspect of their financial lives - paying their bills, keeping both personal and corporate books, tax preparation & compliance, assisting with large purchases (homes/cars/boats/helicopters/planes), planning for retirement, and making sure that all of their assets and income streams are protected or insured.
We’re looking for a dynamic individual, with strong written and verbal communication skills, who can think on their feet, manage their time well, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. A candidate should have 5 years’ experience in tax preparation (review a plus) for individuals, partnerships, corporations, S-corporations, and trusts (foundations and gift/estate returns a plus). A strong background in accounting is necessary, as you will frequently interface with the bookkeeping department to review GL details and assist with complex journal entries. This position also entails doing tax planning & projections, tax research, dealing with the IRS and various state governments on client matters, preparing and reviewing cash flow projections and other materials to present to clients, and various special projects. In summary, the criteria/job description for this candidate is:
- 5 years+ tax preparation for high net worth Individuals, partnerships, corporations, S-corporations, trusts and foundations (review is a plus)
- Strong written and oral communication skills to help run client relationships
- Ability to reconcile tax documents
- Year-end tax and financial planning and corporate year-end close-outs
- Review quarterly and annual general ledgers and assist bookkeepers with recording complex journal entries
- Ability to perform tax research
- Experience dealing with IRS, FTB and local taxing authorities on client matters
- Preparing and reviewing multiple year cash flow projections and asset allocation schedules
- Prepare personal and corporate financial statements
- Business management experience a plus
