Comprised of the Company’s international business units and various direct-to-consumer streaming services, DE aligns technology, media distribution and advertising sales into a single business segment to create and deliver personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the worldJob Summary:The Analyst of Digital Forecasting on the Disney Entertainment Research, Insights and Analytics team will be responsible for full scale execution of the forecast workflow. This forecast process includes short and long term (next year, 5-year, 10-year) forecasts as well as tactical and strategic/ad-hoc analysis across a number of different business units and distribution end points. This person will work with other science and analytics analysts to balance the art and science of forecasting to identify user consumption patterns, short- and long-term trends, emerging insights, and data anomalies, while understanding contextual drivers and making strategic recommendations to the Manager, Digital Forecasting and other team leaders. The Analyst position is mostly a tactical role but is expected to think strategically and help to execute organizational strategy. The Analyst of Digital Forecasting will be responsible for building strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and can drive both tactical and strategic projects.Responsibilities:Forecasting/Modeling:Identify the benefits and challenges of different modeling approaches for each business unit and participate in period reviews of each methodology to support continuous improvement.Collaborate with analytics teams, leveraging statistical and machine learning to measure and project a user’s engagement with the Disney platforms across many KPIs.Support continuous improvement and increased accuracy of forecasting process by analyzing various data sources to identify trends and measure potential impact on forecast models.Advanced Analytics:Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvementsWork with team members to translate highly ambiguous business questions into thoughtful and comprehensive analyses for stakeholders that deliver actionable insights.Evaluate and execute the appropriate statistical methods to use for analysis and forecasting of user engagement on the platform.Create automated reporting using Excel and visualization tools such as TableauData Quality Monitoring:As a subject matter expert on internal/external data sources, ensure anomalies/bugs are escalated and if needed workarounds developed to ensure the data is as clean as possible, as these KPI’s will become the source of truth for various groups.Collaboration and Partnership:Ability to work in fast paced and ambiguous environment answering abstract business questions with speed and thoroughness.Work across a wide variety of stakeholders to define technical and business requirements for deliverablesDatabase Management:Write and maintain advanced and efficient queries using Snowflake SQLUtilize knowledge of data structures and business needs to validate and test requirements for new data sources and tools in partnership with data science teamsBasic Qualifications:Minimum of one year of experience conducting qualitative business analyses and insights, or relatable work/internships required.Advanced Excel and SQL skills required. Experience using visualization tools highly desirable.Experience in forecasting, scenario planning, modelingExceptional communication skills (verbal, written, listening)Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Microstrategy)Experience with data management tools (SQL, Snowflake)This role is onsite and requires someone in office 4+ days a week in NYC. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
