Job Summary
Develop long-term strategies based on company goals to drive sales, market share growth, and increase gross margin dollars for Medline’s dealer network.
Responsibilities
- Grow Medline's dealer network by presenting new solutions, products, and services to clients. Work with technical staff and other internal teams to meet customer needs.
- Enable new business opportunities through high-touch relationships with nursing homes and hospice customers.
- Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales. Set the prioritization of initiatives and projects.
- Negotiate, and close business deals to expand Medline’s dealer network.
- Track and record activity on accounts to ensure sales targets are met.
- Oversee Program Managers for all lines of business in Homecare (HME, Home Health and Hospice, Health Plans).
- Management responsibilities include:
- Typically, manages through multiple Managers. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability.
- Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department;
- Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs;
- Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;
- Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;
- Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree
Relevant Work Experience
- At least 8 years of sales and/or business development experience.
- At least 4 years of experience directly managing a sales force including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.
Additional
- Experience negotiating contracts, prices, conflict resolution and reconciling differences.
- Experience collaborating with both internal resources and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines.
- Experience presenting to senior level management and making recommendations on best approach for new business.
- Willing to travel at least 50% of the time for business purposes (within state, out of state, international).
Preferred Qualifications
- Sales and/or business development experience in the healthcare industry.
