Job Description 

The technology team supports approximately 30 employees at the Los Angeles office, with staff that work remotely 2-3 days a week.  The IT team consists of a director and associate director. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

 

Microsoft 365 and Cloud Services Management: 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the Microsoft 365 platform, providing ongoing support to ensure the health of our M365 tenant and managing incident escalations effectively. 
  • Proficiency in PowerShell. Plan, write, and implement scripts to streamline data management and workflows. 
  • Optimize performance and user experience across everyday applications, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Zoom. 
  • Administer and manage Azure Entra ID and Intune-Endpoint Management, automating routine tasks to improve efficiency. 
  • Oversee Single Sign-On (SSO) configurations and proactively monitor security logs for potential threats. 
  • Manage updates and patching through patch management platforms and scripting to ensure system security and reliability. 
  • Configure and enforce security policies across multiple platforms, including Intune (managing configuration profiles, compliance policies, and conditional access), Zscaler, SaaS security management, EDR/XDR solutions, and Zero Trust architectures. 
  • Preferred: Agile / DevOps (including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery) 

IT Infrastructure and Maintenance: 

  • Perform regular maintenance and upgrades of hardware, software, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 
  • Respond promptly to urgent issues and outages to minimize downtime, providing timely status updates to the director. Conduct thorough incident analysis and remediation to prevent recurrence. 
  • Secure and continuously monitor all hardware, software, and network infrastructure, delivering regular updates to the director. 
  • Ensure successful completion of backups, with secure offsite storage to safeguard critical data. 
  • Inspect and maintain conference room equipment regularly to ensure functionality and smooth operations for staff meetings. 

IT Support and Help Desk: 

  • Efficiently manage help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and delegating tasks as appropriate. Develop clear instructions and resources for common IT tasks. 
  • Oversee staff onboarding and offboarding processes, with a focus on maintaining and improving security protocols. 
  • Track and manage IT inventory, ensuring equipment and software are available, properly maintained, and documented for efficient support operations. 
  • Generate regular reports and analysis to identify trends, enhance efficiency, strengthen security, and address potential issues before they escalate. 

Vendor and Contract Management: 

  • Work with vendors to obtain quotes, test products, oversee procurement of equipment and software, and manage support contracts 

 

Qualifications 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in information systems, engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution 
  • 5+ years of equivalent work experience. 
  • Server, desktop and network experience in a fast-paced support environment 
  • Experience advising and communicating with non-technical staff 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail 
  • An interest in the mission and work of the foundation 
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified: M365 Admin or M356 Apps (SharePoint, Teams) 

 

Physical requirements: 

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch routinely    
  • Must have the manual dexterity to work on hardware and wiring   
  • Be able to lift up to 65 pounds

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with skills and experience. FOFS offers excellent benefits including a variety of health plans and 401(k) plan. 

 

Location  

This position is based in Los Angeles, California. We are currently a hybrid workplace.
