Job Description
The Associate Director, Media position serves as a senior media expert, providing departmental or capability leadership and increasing visibility of the media practice while also demonstrating leadership on key clients. This person manages a team of 3-4 and is responsible for ensuring media strategies and deliverables meet or exceed the strategic requirements of the client, add value, and meet Razorfish’s quality standards. He/she also manages, motivates and mentors media staff in the development and execution of digital media initiatives and drives new business efforts. Duties may also include partnering with other key agencies.
Core Craft Skills
- Plans and buys media as needed; may include direct account and client service responsibilities.
- Works cross-functionally with management team and client team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills/presence.
- Solid financial acumen and business expertise.
- Develops and maintains publisher relationships, including senior-level contacts; contributes to issue resolution between both parties.
Client Exposure
- Manages one or more mid-size account ($30-50 million in total spend).
- Provides marketing expertise, including online and offline strategy development for clients and client teams.
- Manages 3-5 direct reports, along with workflow and department capabilities in conjunction with the Media Director.
- Provides day-to-day functional management of the media team, including recruiting, performance management, and plays an active role in training and mentoring.
- Assists with interviewing, hiring and getting new Media Planners up to speed.
- Leads Media Training (basic knowledge, best practices, feedback and coaching to enable continuous improvement).
- Fosters an environment of shared learning and acts as a trusted source of media information for agency and in client meetings.
- Holds a strong partnership with the Insights Group; understands ad technologies and capabilities.
- Understands all Razorfish products, tools and services.
Business Development
- Occasionally contributes to new business efforts.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of media planning or equivalent business experience; minimum 4+ years in online media preferred.
- 3+ years management experience preferred.
- Strong analytical thinking and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
- Strong project and time management skills.
- Strong desire to contribute to a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office solutions, specifically Excel and Microsoft PPT.
- Proficiency in syndicated planning tools including, but not limited to, MRI/Simmons, Vivvix, and Pathmatics.
- Experience within Prisma or MediaOcean.
- Multi-cultural planning a plus.

Compensation Range: $91,000 - 125,000. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
