Your role

As part of the Platform: SuiteScript team you will have the opportunity to shape the future of the most powerful product on the SuiteCloud Platform. Our mission is to provide a modern, stable, and performant Javascript runtime environment with API access to all NetSuite functionality, enabling customers, partners, and internal teams to build and extend their business applications.

We are looking for a dedicated, technically savvy, natural leader to work with a fast-growing, committed team of software engineers, test automation engineers, product managers, technical writers and UX designers to continue to advance this foundational component of the SuiteCloud Platform. In this role you will manage the SuiteScript engineering team. Responsibilities will include mentoring and coaching engineers in their career path and interests, defining the engineering culture of your team by fostering clean-code and good testing practices, maintaining an environment of collaboration and continuous self-improvement, and ensuring a customer-focused, Agile approach to product development.

You will ensure the team works well together, has all the necessary tools, processes and resources in place; you will create a strong team bond between all subject areas and team members, and make sure the team collaborates well with other engineering teams across the organization. You will collaborate with peers based in Europe and the Philippines. You will be required to gain a deep understanding of our product capabilities and users so you can propose and prototype solutions to address customer needs and lead and foster initiatives for innovation. You will be required to gain a deep understanding of our product stack so you can make decisions and solve challenging problems while improving the quality of our product and minimizing the risk to our thousands of customers who rely on NetSuite's 24/7 availability. You will gather, organize and share information to ensure progress on various engineering and product topics.

Your Qualifications And Skills

  • B.S. or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in computer engineering or equivalent
  • Drive for software design standard methodologies and clean code principles
  • Clear and effective communicator in both technical and non-technical contexts
  • 8+ years' experience in software development
  • 5+ years' experience with Java (C# or similar)
  • 5+ years' experience with JavaScript
  • 5+ years' experience with SQL database including schema design and development of efficient queries and PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of design patterns, object oriented programming, SOLID principles and test driven development
  • Understanding of distributed systems, HTTP, Internet protocols, web browsers
  • Experience in designing, architecting and implementing dedicated scalable applications
  • Great problem-solving skills and ability to abstract functional requirements
  • Strength in organizational skills
  • Experience coaching and mentoring other engineers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Agile (Scrum, SCRUMBan, Kanban, …) experience
  • Previous experience building cloud applications or PaaS
  • Understanding of cloud-based distributed software applications
  • Open mind for discussion and team collaboration
  • Pride in your work and a desire to delight the customer motivates you to take initiative, responsibility and ownership of your projects
  • Valid work permit for USA

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only. US: Hiring Range: from $84,800 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
