General Manager – Inspection & Supply Chain Solutions for Heavy Transportation

Chronos Consulting’s client is a multinational providing logistics, reactive containment and quality inspection solutions for the heavy transportation sector. We are seeking a General Manager USA to manage and oversee all aspects of Operations, Sales and Business Development, HR, and Quality functions. Experienced in managing a service organization with 300 – 500 employees, coupled with strong P&L acumen. Based in Peoria, Illinois office and extensive travel to office, warehouses, plants and customer sites across the Midwest USA region.
The Role:
- Ensuring the correct resources are in place to execute existing and new business opportunities, and creating and managing the organizational structure.
- Supporting sites across the Midwest USA with extraordinary situations; events related to volume fluctuations, new projects and/or customer needs/changes among others.
- Setting targets and direction for sales in financial and strategic customer and service diversification.
- Advising and implementing measurable new projects, renewals, or projects outside of the company normal scope.
- Advising on warehouse leases, both new and existing renewals.
- Negotiating and approval of customer Master Service Agreements, NDA’s, and other documents.
- Creating an annual budget and mid-year forecast and hands-on P&L management with a proven track record in business management.
- Advising on HR division structure, headcount, new roles and supporting recruiting, retention programs, potential legal and insurance matters.
- Following up with key customer contacts to ensure satisfaction and understand needs.
The Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10+ years of experience in operational or general management in construction equipment, agricultural equipment, powersports or on-highway truck industries.
- Background in logistics and supply chain, technical background, engineering, project management or similar.
- Ability to bounce between high-level executive strategy development and supporting an individual site to solve a specific technical or resource-related challenge.
- Establish credibility, a solution provider and an entrepreneurial spirit to deliver business results.
- Travel availability as needed to visit and support sites across Midwest USA.
