Health & Safety Manager / Safety Manager / EHS Manager

Exciting opportunity for a passionate hands-on Health and Safety Manager to join a F500 consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturer. Manage all aspects of plant H&S to ensure a safe, accident-free work environment. Develop, lead, implement, and support the plant safety culture.

Amazing opportunity to make an impact in this key flagship facility with over 600 employees.

Mentor and manage 10 direct reports (6 Safety and 4 Security). Report to the Plant Manager and be a key member of the Leadership Team.

Compensation: $100K - $150K + 15% bonus + 9% 401K match + outstanding relocation.

Location: Modesto, CA

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of Health and Safety programs.
  • Drive a comprehensive, multi-year strategy to continue the plant's journey towards Health & Safety excellence.
  • Provide strategic leadership, training, and guidance for the Safety department including people, data, and budgetary responsibility.
  • Lead the conduction of accident investigations, root cause analysis, and compile accident reports.
  • Provide technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support plant on regulatory compliance issues in Safety.
  • Build world-class safety programs.
  • Build and manage Safety Committees.
  • Plan, implement, and ensure effective training of all H&S programs.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies.
  • Experience in leading accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Ensure effective communication and compliance of State, Federal, Local, and Corporate Safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years H&S experience in a medium to large manufacturing plant.
  • 5+ years of supervisory/leadership/management experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal health and safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Experience in leading accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Lean / Continuous Improvement mindset.
  • Solid ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, influence safety culture, and drive compliance initiatives.
  • CSP certification, a plus.
