We’re looking for an experienced bartender who will be responsible for providing a pleasing guest experience for our guests at all beverage functions while creating an atmosphere conducive to the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages. We will be looking to you to make every experience flawless to encourage repeat business. This role reports to our Food & Beverage Manager and is a non-exempt position.
The Property
HYATT House is an extended-stay, residential-style hotel that aims to provide individual travelers with the feel of a modern condominium. Our 175 room, all suite property offers the comforts of home such as fully equipped kitchens, flat panel HDTVs and daily complimentary breakfast, while the public space features facilities such as a pool, a fitness center, and a business center. This property is located in urban Orlando near popular destinations such as the Orange County Convention Center, Universal Studios, and premium outlet shopping experiences, accommodating small meetings and corporate clients seeking to place their employees on extended assignment.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Abide by all state, federal and corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages. Ensure proper liquor controls are in place.
  • Input orders into a register at the point of sale and create a check for each guest, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges, and ensure vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all monies. Comply with all PM Hotel Group policies and procedures regarding cash handling.
  • Lock up and store all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposit cash drops and secure bank.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and answer questions regarding menu items, specials, and beverages.
  • Maintain knowledge of current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, and food shortages in the kitchen.
  • Accommodate any needs for reasonable special requests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
  • Maintain clean and sanitary environment with knowledge of proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
  • Practice safe work habits at all times to avoid possible injury to self or other employees.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous bartending experience.
  • Previous hospitality/customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of Florida liquor laws and ability to abide by them, including monitoring guests for responsible alcohol consumption and asking for proper identification.
  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
  • Ability to think on your feet and work calmly under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • A passion for customer service and excellent customer services skills.
