Role

To maintain a high standard of cleanliness in guestrooms and service areas and provide support services for the resort’s housekeeping department.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect section cleaned by assigned attendant using designated checklist.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all Housekeeping operating procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication within all departments.
  • Assume other authorities pertaining to the area of responsibility as delegated by the Assistant Executive Housekeeper/Executive Housekeeper.
  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper in controlling and reducing department expenses (uniforms, supplies, damaged articles).
  • Prioritize and delegate work assignments to housekeeping staff.
  • Direct performance of assigned staff and follow up with corrections where needed.
  • Ascertain staff training needs and provide such training.
  • Motivate staff and maintain a cohesive team.
  • Maintain proper inventory and security of housekeeping supplies.
  • Ensure the security of any assigned area and lock all doors.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Coordinate breaks for assigned staff.
  • Communicate additions or changes to the assignment sheets as they arise throughout the shift.
  • Identify and act upon situations which compromise the department’s standards.
  • Update area status after approving cleanliness and condition in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Complete work orders for maintenance repairs. Follow up and inspect items requiring repairs.
  • Evaluate employee performance levels and re-train as needed. Be aware of Resorts emergency and safety procedures.
  • Conduct new hire training.
  • Monitor and handle customer complaints by following the instant pacification procedures and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback on staff performance to the Manager.
  • Report disciplinary problems to the Manager.
  • Maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform all other job requests as assigned by management.
  • Must be able to maintain mobility and work in varying temperatures (Indoors and Outdoors).
  • Must have working knowledge of company radios/pagers.
  • Complete all pertinent paperwork and logs.
  • Must keep management apprised of status work assignments.

Requirements

  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • High school graduate.
  • Must have at least one year of supervisory skills in housekeeping or a related field.
