Mechanical Dynamics and Analysis LLC, a world class supplier of power generation repairs, services and parts has an immediate opening for a qualified individual who has a desire to join a growing organization and an appetite for diverse and technically challenging work.
In this role you will apply knowledge of mechanics, shop math, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures to set-up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts. Train personnel as needed
Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of math and instruments such as micrometers, vemiers, and gauges.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machine work.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units for defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Read work orders and/or production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, location of cutting lines, and dimension and tolerances.
» Set-up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
« Start and run machines, monitor their operations, and record operational data.
• Adjust machine speeds and actions, according to product specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, working environment.
• Support other areas of the shop as needed.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 10+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to foresee changes relevant to area of responsibility.
• Ability to organize work assignments to ensure efficient operations within the area.
• Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective.
• Ability to read and use related quality control tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, indicators, and tape measures.
• Good organizational skills
