Job Summary & Responsibilities
Onto Innovation is looking for a qualified senior opto-mechanical engineer to work on the development team for our product lines of automated inspection and metrology tools for the semiconductor industry.
The position will support existing designs and develop new optical system solutions that satisfy the customer needs associated with the broad range of applications in the markets we serve. This requires a willingness to take initiative and collaborate with others in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.

  • Job Summary & Responsibilities
    • Work with a multi-disciplinary team in a dynamic environment.
    • Develop and evaluate concepts and designs for new optical modules and components to for use in automated wafer inspection equipment.
    • Support products through entire product life cycle:
    • Initial concept development.
    • Protype and initial tool builds.
    • Commercialization and transfer to production.
    • Continuing engineering.
    • Work with vendors on design, tolerance analysis, prototypes, evaluation, testing and manufacturing support.
    • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing and customer service.
    • Limited domestic and international travel.
Qualifications
  • Minimum BS Engineering and10-years mechanical design experience; opto-mechanical experience preferred.
  • Experience with CREO design software, FEA analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with complex system development in both design and in lab environments.
  • Experience with illumination and imaging system designs.
  • Ability to perform tolerance analysis and evaluate performance tradeoffs.
  • Prototyping experience.
  • Machining experience is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure.
