Senior Back-End Engineer (Javascript, Python)

As Senior Back-End Engineer, you will be responsible for the backend infrastructure, performance, stability, and scaling of user-facing dApps. You will work closely with smart contract, protocol, and frontend engineers as well as DeFi strategists and will be bridging the constraints posed by web-scale applications and blockchain technology. As an early employee you will be a critical part of our core team and significantly influence the company's direction.

Responsibilities

1. Build services critical to our dApps using Javascript or Python
2. Write production-ready scripts based on requirements and draft scripts in Javascript or Python
3. Add new functionality to Volume’s Python and Javascript SDKs.
4. Maintain the backend infrastructure for Volume’s Defi dApps and Bots.
5. Maintain services and scripts for the marketing team infrastructure with Mixpanel, Storyblock, and Discourse
6. Write high-quality, reusable, and well-tested code in order to meet our company goals
7. Demonstrate security and secret management across numerous services.

Requirements

1. Excellent JavaScript skills
2. Excellent Python skills
3. Degree in Computer Science
4. Experience with Node.js, Docker, DBMS technology including postgresSQL and SQLlite and caching mechanisms such as Redis, Memcache
5. Familiarity with blockchain governance or enthusiasm to learn
6. Team player and are comfortable reviewing others' code and implementing feedback from others on your work.
7. Exceptional communication skills.
8. Comfortable with asynchronous written communication, synchronous video calls, pair programming, etc.

Nice to have

1. Good Rust skills
2. Proficient knowledge of Go
