Obvio is a Khosla-backed technology company with a mission to reduce traffic fatalities (43,000+ annually!) and transform how cities operate. Obvio’s solar-powered AI cameras can automatically detect and deter unsafe behaviors. Beyond traffic safety, our same AI-powered cameras will help cities run smoother: proactively alerting municipalities to send EMS to detected accidents, to clear roadways of hazardous snowfall & other debris, and more! We’re on track to generate close to $2 million in revenue by EOY, and looking to quickly scale the team.

We’re looking for an ambitious sales leader to help accelerate Obvio’s vision. In this role, you would be the first GTM hire, reporting to the CEO, responsible for a wide variety of early-stage sales leadership including: driving and closing deals, strategically thinking about future territories & opportunities, and scaling the teams’ GTM muscle & operations. We’re looking for leaders with a track record of landing government deals in the SLED/Law enforcement sectors, experience selling technology products, and experience operating in a fast-changing startup environment.

Key Responsibilities Include But Aren’t Limited To:

Driving & Owning Sales:

  • Prospecting and determining key target municipalities and individual stakeholders
  • Manage the entire sales cycle and relationship for active opportunities
  • Develop and maintain consultative sales relationships with all key buying influencers in each account
  • Fill out contracts and RFPs for prospective clients
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and yearly revenue numbers for assigned territories

GTM Strategy and Business Development:

  • Support strategic initiatives to refine marketing and sales efforts to generate qualified leads
  • Partnering with government affairs & lobbyists in new target areas to find ways to expand & enter new territories

Sales Leadership

  • Building out a sales function within the company – you’d start be starting as a one-person team, but we’d love to you to start growing the team as the business grows

Qualifications & Experience

  • 6+ years experience in a closing role in a startup environment
  • Experience selling into the GovTech space with knowledge and understanding of technology sales, multi-stakeholder sales, and government procurement processes
  • Experience building and leading sales teams and functions
  • Willingness to travel or be temporarily located in key territories
