Senior Account Executive, Education

Location: Chicago, IL

We’re looking for someone with 2-4 years of agency experience who would be a strong mid-level addition to our account teams. This person should bring significant exposure to our clients through their strong, genuine relationships with media outlets and trade associations. They should have strong writing skills that are consistent and on brand. This role is active on client calls, begins learning the business financials and budgeting, and will start to mentor junior team members.

This specific role will support clients within the K12 and Higher Education sector, including edtech, curriculum, school safety and security, tutoring, professional development, and more. This is a full-time position at FINN Partners that will be based in the Madison, Wisconsin office. Candidates for this hybrid position should be located in Madison or Chicago. Responsibilities

  1. Compose creative and thoughtful traditional and social media plans to secure earned media.
  2. Develop comprehensive, targeted media lists, influencer lists, tailored pitches, content calendars, client content, media materials, social content.
  3. Generate ideas and unique pitch angles for media outreach, as well as persuasively pitch media and adjust angles, as required to get the best results.
  4. Support and sometimes lead client pitch teams; assist team to further develop pitch strategies and approaches.
  5. Maintain regular client contact and serve as the day-to-day client contact during program execution, as assigned.
  6. Proactively generate new ideas and opportunities to ensure client program success and growth.
  7. Create error-free media materials that are strong in both structure and AP style and align with clients’ strategic direction.
  8. Prepare project management communications, including planning timelines, client meeting recaps, etc.
  9. Develop initial drafts of client presentations and proof/edit client-related documents, as needed.
  10. Actively participate in client calls, meetings and presentations, taking the lead, as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. 2-4 years relevant work experience in a marketing communications field.
  2. Entrepreneurial spirit, initiative-seeker and strong work ethic.
  3. Strong critical thinking and analytical skills — able to evaluate self and client work, key learnings and implications that help ensure ongoing improvement for the agency.
  4. Strong knowledge of social media channels, monitoring and listening tools/technologies.
