Project Engineer, Ocean Systems

Triton is developing new products for the subsea and ocean environment. We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead our development teams working on subsea systems, unmanned undersea vehicles (UUVs), and offshore renewable energy.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a project team and provide technical direction. Bring concepts from idea to prototype and take them to the field.
• Take ownership of project success and maintain customer relationships.
• Develop technology roadmaps and transition plans.
• Solve complex problems and manage project schedules and risks.
• Design, build, and test mechanical systems for the ocean environment. Integrate electrical and software systems.
• Perform hands-on assembly and repair of machines and prototypes.
• Develop high-quality CAD in Solidworks for fabrication.
• Conduct experiments independently.
• Communicate technical project progress effectively.

Desired qualifications:

• Experience in Department of Defense or US Navy R&D.
• Subsea industry experience.
• Experience with ocean technologies and marine robotics.
• Structural engineering experience.
• Competency in CAD and basic machine shop equipment.
• Experience with various software tools.
• Experience in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
• Experience writing technical proposals.

Education/Experience:

- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Ocean Engineering or related field required. Advanced degree is a plus.

- 5+ years R&D experience.
