Position summary
This is a full-time hybrid role for an Insulation Estimator at PK Industrial in Wichita, KS, with flexibility for some remote work. The Insulation Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project specifications and requirements, conducting on-site inspections, estimating material and labor costs, and preparing accurate bids. They will collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to develop accurate estimates for insulation work.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and create comprehensive cost estimates for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and clarify project details.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates meet project requirements and expectations.
  • Provide value engineering and alternative material recommendations to improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare bid proposals, budgets, and cost reports for project submission.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and best practices for insulation installation.
  • Lead the estimating team on large-scale projects, mentoring junior estimators as needed.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and provide accurate pricing.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.
Job Requirements
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of insulation materials, techniques, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented and organized approach to work.
  • Experience in the construction or industrial services sector is a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and protocols.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
