Job Summary
BASIC FUNCTION
Provide assistance in the development of student functional skills of daily living, social skills, medication compliance, and positive behavior support and intervention techniques for students diagnosed with a mental health condition or with other conditions with behavioral emotional/behavioral components and/or severe disciplinary problems. Successful applicants should possess strong writing skills related to documenting student and IEP services.
The following 40 hour per week, 11 month per year positions are available:
• Mental Health Resource Center (Area C)
2351 Cardinal Lane Annex B, San Diego, CA 92123
• Riley K-8 (Area C)
5650 Mt. Ackerly Drive, San Diego CA 92111
These positions qualify for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employees and dependents.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to three years of behavior modification experience with youth in a mental health setting, preferably in inpatient hospitalization, intensive day treatment, or residential treatment settings.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided). Personality and character traits suited to providing services for students with serious behavior challenges. Maintain Professional Assault Crisis Training (Pro-ACT) certification as provided by the district.
