This position will support the sustainability efforts of Skanska USA Building. The Senior Sustainability Engineer will work with our Project Teams helping to educate them on their project responsibilities and with their focus on green building strategies, systems, and standards. The Senior Sustainability Engineer will work alongside the project team in assuring they are properly tracking and documenting project sustainability goals towards eventual certification-based efforts whether those be LEED, WELL, Living Building Challenge or other. Another key part of this role will be to lead the collection and reporting of carbon data in response to our commitment to hit milestone reduction goals in 2030 and 2045, and to coach junior Sustainability Engineers and project teams on reduction tactics. The position will also support training and research for the Green Project Solutions team, and will help to train and assist in the success of the junior Sustainability Engineers.

Senior Sustainability Engineer Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of building construction or sustainability related experience;
  • 1+ years experience with LEED or other similar certifications of projects
  • 1+ years experience creating forms, templates and meeting materials
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Business Administration, Public Administration, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Architecture, or another job related field or 8 years equivalent experience plus minimum 5 years prior relevant experience.
