Job Description
Openprise is a rapidly growing company with a highly loyal customer base and strong ties to the MOps, SOps, and RevOps communities. As a recognized thought leader in the industry, Openprise is dedicated to driving innovation and best practices in revenue operations. Reporting to the VP of GTM Strategy and Ops, the Director of Events will play a key role in advancing our leadership by developing and executing strategic events that not only enhance brand visibility but also drive leads, pipeline growth, and customer expansion. This role will focus on organizing impactful physical events that align with company goals and further solidify Openprise’s reputation within these key communities.
This position is not remote. Qualified candidates must be able to commute to San Mateo, CA at least twice a week.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of physical events to drive customer engagement, generate leads, and support pipeline growth while enhancing Openprise's brand visibility.
- Oversee the success of flagship events, such as the MOps-Apalooza and Open conference, sponsored industry events, customer advisory board meetings (CAB), field events, and other user meetups.
- Plan and manage internal events, including Sales Kick-Offs (SKOs), offsites, and team-building events, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and culture.
- Collaborate with the GTM teams (sales, marketing, and customer success teams) to align events with company goals, including driving sponsorships, registrations, and content curation.
- Manage event logistics, vendor relationships, and operations, ensuring seamless delivery of events in various formats.
- Lead and manage the events team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Develop and track event metrics, including lead generation, promotions, opportunities, and ROI analysis, to continuously improve event effectiveness.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, bringing fresh ideas and best practices in event technology, production services, and customer engagement to the team.
- Manage event budgets, track project schedules, and ensure all programs are delivered on time and within scope.
- Manage, mentor, and provide guidance to a Marketing Events Specialist.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in managing B2B SaaS user conferences, including event sponsorships, registrations, and content organization.
- Proven experience in event logistics and execution with a deep understanding of industry best practices.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and customer success teams.
- Data-driven, creative thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for driving customer engagement.
- Expertise in managing budgets, vendor contracts, and program metrics.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interface with leadership and provide industry insights.
- Player/coach mentality and experience needed.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Base Salary - $165,000 - $175,000 and will be determined based on experience.
