The Recruiter is responsible for the entire lifecycle of talent acquisition for direct labor positions from the creation and publishing of a job description to the screening and interviewing of candidates and following through with the formal job offer. The Recruiter keeps track of staffing needs and manages the company's candidate pool for direct labor positions.
- Creates and publishes both internal and external job postings on different recruiting channels and platforms to attract qualified candidates for direct labor positions.
- Screens incoming candidates for fit to the job profile and conducts phone screenings as applicable after consulting with the hiring managers.
- Sets up interviews for direct labor positions and actively participates in interviews together with the hiring manager or a representative from the hiring manager's department.
- Communicates with and directs staffing agencies for assignments of temporary workers as applicable after consulting with the hiring managers and plant manager.
- Acts as a liaison between candidates and hiring managers, relays necessary information to both parties including feedback from (phone) interviews, resulting decisions and open actions or activities.
- Prepares formal job offers after approval from the hiring manager and plant manager and manages the drug screening and background check processes.
- Collaborates with hiring managers to realize internal opportunities such as lateral moves and promotions and ensures that any changes are communicated properly to relevant parties.
- Conducts orientation for new hires and acts as a source of direction, information, and assistance for new hires in their first week(s) with the company.
- Creates new hire files and maintains filing for employee record keeping.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to relate to individuals from different backgrounds.
- Skills to mediate between candidates and hiring managers when misunderstandings occur.
- Capable of utilizing data to weigh in on hiring decisions.
- Associate degree in Human Resources or the equivalent in professional experience in a related field.
- At least three years of professional experience in Talent Acquisition or a related field.
