About the Role:

Lead the development and implementation of manufacturing business improvement projects and processes. Support teams to make improvements to existing devices and manufacturing processes. Lead complex projects independently, with minimal supervision, and act as a mentor to the engineering team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all requirements of the Environmental, Health and Safety standards and follow procedures and instructions related to these standards.
  • Lead the execution of Capital Projects to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Morale, and/or Environment.
  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling, and/or automation. Uses capability and reliability studies to predict maintenance needs.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct all aspects of technical reviews using results from capability and reliability studies.
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet safety and quality systems requirements.
  • Provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.
  • Train and provide work direction to technicians, engineers, and manufacturing personnel when required as part of a project validation.
  • Serve as a core team member or extended team member on new product projects.
  • Participate in improvement reviews and line-side meetings.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Safety system, Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Work closely with manufacturing to ensure employees are trained in new processes.
  • Analyze equipment failure data to identify patterns and trends and adjust asset maintenance plans accordingly.
  • Work closely with maintenance and manufacturing to extend the asset life through preventative maintenance activities, while developing a timeline and justification for asset(s) replacement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Let’s Talk About Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering Major Desired in one of the following disciplines: Manufacturing, Mechanical, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Management. Master’s Degree a plus
  • Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and/or Six Sigma a plus.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD or Solid Works
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor people and get results through others.
  • Planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 90-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results
  • An ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations
  • Systems and continuous improvement orientation
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Problem analysis and resolution
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
