CarbonQuest is a distributed carbon capture solutions provider. We are looking for an experienced Director, Market Strategy and Market Analysis . For this position, we seek a candidate able to lead market assessment approaches and market-level and enterprise-level analytics. The Director will have significant experience with hardware-based solutions in the climate tech/carbon capture or industrial decarbonization space.
The position is an integral part of the Commercial Team and reports to the SVP of Strategy, Market Development, and Sustainability. The right candidate will be able to lead data-driven market analysis and forecasting for decarbonization opportunities that could benefit from carbon capture solutions.
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary with benefits, equity position in the company, and an unlimited vacation policy. Ideally, the position will be based either on the East Coast (near NYC or DC) or on the West Coast (WA), but other options will be considered.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Enable the commercial team’s success with data-driven market analysis and forecasting including:
- Research, analysis, modeling for new market segments and new market opportunities.
- Compelling strategy slides to be shared with commercial and executive teams.
- Visuals, charts, graphs based on data that tell a story of different market segments and opportunities for distributed carbon capture.
- Perform analysis to help the commercial team make decisions on market entry, product-market fit, and strategic market approach.
- Handle multiple projects at once that look at both short-term and long-term market opportunities, costs, and benefits:
- Long-term analysis that maximizes and stacks value for the company/customer within each new market segment/geography/type of exhaust.
- Support the sales team with short-term projects based on quick data-driven analysis for current market segments.
- Some understanding of regulatory programs and their effect on the market.
- Work with 3rd party databases to adapt them to the company’s go-to-market strategy.
- Understand regulatory programs and their effect on market segments.
- Collaborate with product managers and other teams to inform their decision-making process.
Qualifications / Skills:
- 7+ years (10+ preferred) of relevant market analysis experience in industrial corporate settings, preferably with carbon capture or hardware-focused decarbonization technologies.
- Strong cost-benefit analysis understanding and ability to present such analysis in compelling, data-driven ways.
- Ability to research information quickly and effectively, then translate the findings into recommendations backed up by compelling data and analysis.
- Ability to learn about and understand complex hardware-based technology.
- Creative approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once and work with bi-coastal teams.
- Track record in delivering market analysis and recommendations in industrial settings.
- Entrepreneurial, lean, hands-on approach with a strong desire for validating product/market fit and growth.
