Position Summary: Responsible for assisting the Director of Workforce Development in the adolescence employment programs which includes the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) and Work, Learn & Grow. To also assist in the development of work readiness programs that help support teens in their pathway to college and career goals. This includes developing internships, creating job shadowing experiences, and job development pre and post College graduation.

Essential Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Workforce Development, the POSITION's responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist Director in overseeing SYEP and WLG employment programs, including orientations and grant management.
  • Lead team members through phases like enrollment, job placement, worksite visits, payroll, and data management.
  • Act as liaison for parents and participants to resolve concerns about payroll, placement, and program policies.
  • Conduct internal audits for program files and documents for City and State audits.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with companies to create internships and summer worksites.
  • Promote employment programs at school fairs to increase applicants.
  • Attend DYCD meetings and trainings, and relay information to colleagues.
  • Organize and facilitate staff orientations and training sessions.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain worksites for summer employment and year-round internships.
  • Facilitate work readiness and HR-related workshops for teens.
  • Review participant resumes, provide feedback, and interview candidates for summer staff positions.
  • Monitor time and attendance for part-time staff, prepare payroll, and maintain youth internship attendance records.
  • Attend database management trainings as required by funders and/or agency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years' experience in the youth development field and/or work readiness.
  • Knowledge and experience with work readiness curriculum.
  • Associate Degree required.
