About the role

As the Elders State Livestock Manager, you will develop and implement a strategic sales plan for Commercial, Stud Stock, and A+ segments, aligned with the ERS National Livestock strategy. You’ll drive sales activities, maximize profitability, and engage your team to achieve ambitious targets. Your insights will shape market opportunities and strengthen client relationships, making a significant impact in the livestock industry. Join us to lead the way!

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement state and area-specific sales strategies to achieve targets in line with the National livestock strategy.
  • Lead and motivate livestock sales staff to meet or exceed expectations while managing state staffing needs within budget constraints.
  • Oversee livestock training programs and ensure all team members receive ongoing development.
  • Build strong relationships with key industry stakeholders and represent Elders in livestock organizations.
  • Conduct market analysis to inform targeted sales campaigns and identify growth opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health & Safety policies and promote a culture of safety within the team.

About you

  • Significant experience in livestock sales and proven success in achieving sales targets.
  • Extensive background in managing and leading sales teams, with strong client relationship management skills.
  • Expert knowledge of livestock products and safe handling practices, along with an understanding of market trends.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to hold effective team meetings and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Relevant qualifications, including Auctioneer licence.
  • Proficient in using technology and software for sales management and reporting.
