Job Description
Seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant for a government clients default residential housing program. Proven experience supervising Accounting Clerks, working in a system of record to extract and update data, interface with the government client, interact with Program Management Office (PMO) key personnel, CFO, and CEO, ensure timely payment to contractors and utility payments, invoicing the client, and utility turn on/off services.
Accountant responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Monitoring work orders and assigning work to Accounting Clerks.
• Accounting clerk oversight, evaluations, and training. • Supervising, overseeing, and correcting as needed work product of Accounting Clerks • Integrate activities in accordance with contract requirements and ensure technical, schedule, cost, and financial performance.
• Monthly audit of utility tasks to ensure timely payments.
• Interfacing with client in regards to invoice adjustments and monitoring of contract usage and remaining value.
• Providing all necessary financial reporting, budget management, data analysis, and costing, as per contract requirements
• Collaborate with CFO, CEO, and PM for approvals.
• Work with bank to ensure possible wire transfers, deposits, check payments, rerunning and collecting on NSF checks, bank reconciliations.
• If applicable, maintain tenant records to include creating monthly A/R report and issue tenant letters for rent reminders, NSF, demands, etc.
• Invoice client monthly to include all utility bills and other property invoices paid and approved for billing.
Qualifications
• Ability to facilitate meetings in a lead capacity for groups of various sizes.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, especially with Federal Government contract staff.
• Organized, deadline driven, with the ability to multi-task
• Implement quality control measures.
• Helpful, but not required, federal government contract accounting requirements
Minimum of five (5) years overseeing a minimum of five accounting clerks. Must pass pre-employment screening and undergo government suitability investigation.
Bachelor's degree in relevant field or five (5) years' experience as a Senior Staff Accountant
