YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)

The National Hotel Sales Manager is a multi-tasking machine with strong community relations and an excellent reputation amongst clients. They also support our hotel family and create an epic experience for our guests. And just to clarify, they still like a good martini.

Working with an awesome team, the National Hotel Sales Manager will be responsible for prospecting clients and cultivating relationships. Using previous experience in the hotel sales arena, the National Hotel Sales Manager is directly responsible for developing business travel, group events, and travel industry business to meet revenue goals.

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)

This role will work closely with the Executive Director of Sales to:

  • Meet or exceed quotas and financial goals set by Management.
  • Effectively solicit, identify, and qualify business opportunities (leads) to meet the defined business parameters resulting in closing contracts through effective contract negotiations, which maximizes revenue and drives customer loyalty.
  • Develop and maintain accounts/customer base of business through on-property customer meetings, travel trade shows, sales trips, and direct customer solicitation, maximizing revenue for the Hotel.
  • Qualify and respond timely to incoming assigned leads and follow through on commitments.
  • Partner with customers as well as Virgin Hotels Las Vegas' local sales and global sales network to understand the customer's buying process, identify key meeting priorities to effectively position and align our unique insights and benefits to customers' key meeting priorities.
  • Accurately forecast and report the sales pipeline.
  • Ensure that business is turned over properly and in a timely manner for quality service delivery.
  • Understand the overall market and know our competitors' strengths and weaknesses.

  • Effectively collect and report group/customers historical data (room night, F&B revenue spent, previous locations, etc.).
  • Regularly and independently engage with cross-functional teammates to understand products and services available to Groups and how the Hotel differentiates itself from our competitors.
  • Review and comprehend all necessary documents essential to the job function.
  • Travel on a limited basis and participate in sales calls, site inspections, entertainment networking events, and training (as assigned) midweek, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Support other members of the Hotel Sales Team, Event Sales Team, Services Team, and Banquet Team as needed.
  • Manage effectively within defined sales roles, internal sales processes, and departmental/company policies and procedures.
  • Be accurate and organized! Document all pertinent daily sales activities, cataloging account and client information as defined by department SOPs.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

MUST HAVE'S

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Minimum education level of High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in Hotel Sales at a luxury or lifestyle property.
  • Excellent oral, written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, customer relations, and presentations.
  • A track record of consistent performance and accountability using multiple sales approaches and managing complex sales into a diverse group of customers.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Able to obtain and maintain an Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card and any other certification or license.
  • Broad understanding of Hotel Sales strategies and techniques.
  • Able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, hotel management, or related field.
  • 2 years of experience selling group business at a property or sales office.

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 30 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the property with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other teammates, and outside contacts.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
