POSITION TITLE/GRADE : Autism Specialist II 40 hours/Exempt 10
PROGRAM/HOURS: 40 hours with on-call rotation
SCHEDULE: Tuesday through Saturday 11 am-7 pm with Flexibility to meet Programmatic needs.
LOCATION: Northampton with travel throughout Hampshire and Franklin County
SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support individuals with autism and/or intellectual disabilities who reside on their own by providing skill building, referrals to other agencies; health care management; collaboration with the community regarding disabilities and/or autism, identify natural supports; responsible for all required documentation.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Provide individualized support to families including complete intakes/assessments/discharges, make family visits, develop support plans/intervention strategies for emergency and ongoing needs; provide information on resources and services; maintain contact and ongoing support as needed; connect families with other families for support; maintain files and records.
Act as liaison between programs, families, providers, and allied professionals on routine or acute-related matters. Work with DDS, supervisor, and individual to provide coordination, assistance, and skill-building to the individual.
Coordinate and execute individualized services within the including generic supports, visual aids, and structured skill-building; interfaces between providers and individual, if needed; provides individualized training; assists in budget development and tracking; participates in recruitment and training of additional team members, including initial and ongoing training; monitors allocations and usage; help develop a schedule and tracking systems based on goals and needs, supervises Individual support specialists.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Program Manager
QUALIFICATIONS : 1. Broad knowledge of a discipline involving the use of broad theoretical knowledge equal to a complete 4-year college education.
- Knowledge of autism and treatments.
- Over 1 year up to and including 3 years working with adults with autism and intellectual disabilities. Experience in mental health preferred.
- Requires valid driver's license and reliable transportation/vehicle.
SALARY: $44,782.40 Annually plus on-call compensation when scheduled
