The Community Services Manager will oversee our Restoring Power Advocates, Community Advocate, Youth Diversion/Community Connections programming, as well as provide direct client care within Youth Diversion/Community Connections. The position is structured to be .6 leadership to the community services department and .4 direct client care.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  1. Provide leadership and mentoring to a team of direct client providers (4 FTEs) across community services programming, with the ability to develop and maintain a strong team culture in alignment with organizational values.
  2. Oversee hiring, training, and performance management of team members.
  3. Actively engage on the leadership team, using effective communication, intentional and strategic decision-making to move the organization forward in achieving its mission and vision.
  4. Facilitate ongoing program development across the department to ensure quality service delivery and ongoing compliance with legislative requirements and changes.
  5. Commitment to continuous learning with understanding and connection to current and evolving industry trends and challenges. Ability to integrate this information into innovative client delivery.
  6. Engage in community-based outreach across sectors to represent NYFS and deepen the community’s understanding of our service offerings. Actively participate in coalitions and/or committees related to service areas in order to stay up to date and engaged with other provider organizations in Minnesota. Provide community presentations related to service areas.
  7. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with referral partners.
  8. Develop, maintain, and oversee the community services budget, which includes grant oversight and quarterly reporting.
  9. Plan and facilitate team meetings, monthly team consult, and biannual team retreats.
  10. Commitment to program evaluation and ongoing data-driven program development.

Client Care Responsibilities:

  1. Provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive, community-based services to clients within the Youth Diversion and Community Connections Programs.
  2. Facilitate seminars for youth and caregivers focused on positive decision making and accountability.
  3. Facilitate community connections groups with youth and caregivers that center around healthy life skills, career development, community resourcing, and positive peer and adult connection.
  4. Collaborate with community providers to facilitate outreach, referrals, and programming.
  5. Complete timely documentation and tracking in accordance with NYFS policies.
  6. Some evening availability is required.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Expertise in domestic violence/sexual assault advocacy and programming.
  2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  3. Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field.
  4. 1-3 years of leadership experience, with a focus on mentoring and empowering team members in their professional growth and service delivery.
  5. Solid understanding of and sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic differences among service populations.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  7. Ability to collect and analyze program data.
  8. Must have a valid driver’s license and personal means of transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Speaks Spanish, Hmong, Karen, or Somali.
  2. Master’s degree in social work or related field.
  3. 3-5 years of leadership experience, with a focus on mentoring and empowering team members in their professional growth and service delivery, engaging in data-driven program growth.
  4. Demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain strong partnerships with law enforcement and/or other county entities.
  5. Experience with Procentive.

Salary Range: $54,400 to $68,900 per year based on education, training and/or experience.

  8. In-depth reflective weekly clinical consultation as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
