Job Requirements / Description

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Establishes departmental goals and objectives, policies and procedures, functions with autonomy.
  2. Manages the accountability and stewardship of human, financial, and often physical resources in compliance with department and university strategic goals and objectives.
  3. Communicates effectively; creates clear and coherent written materials; ability to influence the direction of services, systems, or projects.
  4. May function as an advisor to department and/or university leadership.
  5. May manage several large and complex projects simultaneously.
  6. Collaborates with senior leadership to determine overall staffing levels to meet business objectives; responsible for managing budgets and/or financial risk.
  7. Collaborates with department and/or university leadership to develop and implement strategic and operational goals, objectives, and fiscal strategy and controls.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  1. Experience in an academic medical center or academic health system environment with specialized research compute needs; able to translate research faculty needs into comprehensive technology solutions.
  2. Comprehensive analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  3. Comprehensive interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  4. Expert ability to run meetings with senior leaders/stakeholders.
  5. Proven ability to lead and manage large staff and manage multiple/complex projects, meeting deadlines and budget.

Work Week: Standard (M-F equal number of hours per day)
