Registered Nurse – Intensive Care - ICU - Travel - (ICU RN)

YesPermanent staff must wait 2 years before returning as a travelerTravelers cannot live within a 75-mile radius of the facilityPatient Types:Respiratory Failure, GI Bleeds, DKA, Sepsis, CVA’s/TIA, Post-Arrest, ETOH, IVDAComplicated Post-operative PatientsThere is a pediatrics unit, but not a PICU – on rare occasions a pediatric patient may be admitted to this unit (PALS required) until they are able to stabilize/transfer or ship outTypically, this is an older child, but the unit can take 1-year old and up – staff is very supportive in this situationDo not offer:Trauma or NeuroMay stabilize and transferPatient Ratios:1:2-3 (acuity dependent)Required Certifications:BLSACLSPALSCPI or MOAB – must have prior to startCCRN (preferred)Skills required:Must have general ICU experienceInvasive line management (CVP, A-lines) - may have to assist with beside central line insertionsInsulin Drips, Critical care dripsCardiac Rhythm Interpretation, BiPap and Vent Management, VapothermExperience with drains, chest tubesSkills preferred:Balloon Pumps (not typically given to travelers), Temporary Pacemaker (preferred, usually given to staff)CRRT – not provided at this facility at this timeSupport on the Unit:CNA/HUC (Ratio: 1:15) - staffing dependent and not always availableCharge nurse is free floating to be a resourceResponds to codes/RRTWill assist with HUC duties when that support is not availablePhlebotomy will do peripheral drawsRT, 24/7Intensivist in house 24/7House Supervisor, 24/7Charting System/Equipment:EPIC – (strongly preferred)BD Alaris IV PumpsOmnicell (medication dispensing)Monitors: SpacelabsFloating:CVICU - assignments excluded fresh (24 hours) post open-heart surgery. Will be expected to take ICU overflowPCCU (Cardiac Stepdown) – floated based off censusED Holding – task RN – ICU overflow/holdingOrientation:2 days of NEO orientation – will include EPIC test1 shift in the ICUScheduling:Weekend rotation: every otherRequired call?
