As an intern at HAI Group, you will be provided a hands-on experience to learn and contribute to the Finance team's impact to the enterprise. Are you ready to become an intern on our Finance team?
Internship Program Mission:
To engage in the selection of undergraduate and graduate talent (in specific roles, advanced degrees) for an internship with HAI Group designed to support each student's focus of study by evoking the utilization of acquired knowledge, theory, and skills for practical application at work.
Internship Overview:
The accounting intern will be provided a hands-on experience to learn and contribute to the Finance team's impact to the enterprise. Areas of focus will incorporate disciplines of accounting, financial planning and analysis, compliance and internal audit. The expectations for the intern are to provide a summary presentation of what was learned, how it fits their career path, and provide feedback on opportunities of process improvements. The intern will also participate in group activities with the other interns.
This is a full time, paid internship that is required to be on-site in the HAI Group office, located in Cheshire, CT. The program will run from June- August.
Major Responsibilities:
The accounting Intern will perform a variety of duties of the finance staff personnel along with demonstrating analytical reviews and conclusions with recommendations.

  • Perform tasks for month-end and quarterly close; including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation and additional responsibilities as needed
  • Provide support for accounts payable and accounts receivable teams and learn about each team's responsibilities
  • Learn about the financial planning and analysis team's responsibilities including annual operating plan
  • Intern may also have the opportunity to assist with compliance functions and internal audit process during their internship
Academic Background:
Undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
Experience:
Individual working towards degree in a related field. Prior work experience not required, however, experience in a business environment is helpful
