Position: Senior DevOps Engineer (Job Code 88327)
Duties:
- Design, implement, scale, and secure services on the development platform.
- Automate, implement, and improve processes where necessary.
- Code automated infrastructure in a "Cloud native" architecture.
- Proactively monitor and improve infrastructure stack(s) with proper prioritization and collaboration.
- Take on a broad set of no-frills infrastructure tasks, from Linux server administration to cloud resource provisioning, to application monitoring.
- Partner with the SecOps team to develop a strategy to monitor active or emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
- Perform routine audits of the infrastructure and build a resolution plan around any deficiencies/areas for improvement.
- Participate in on-call rotation, respond to alerts, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
Experience Required:
5 years of progressive experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Development Engineer, Software Configuration Associate, or related occupation.
Special Requirements:
- AWS (S3, EC2, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation), Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
- Networking concepts: AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Networks, VPN, and DNS.
- Unix/Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
- Configuration and orchestration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Salt, Fabric, or Puppet.
- Platform, application, and network performance monitoring and alerting tools: New Relic, Splunk, Dynatrace, Azure App-Insights, or Zabbix.
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or TeamCity.
- Scripting languages: Bash, Python, and PowerShell.
- Developing systems that are compliant with PHI/PII regulations.
- Infrastructure As Code technology using Terraform and container technologies Docker and Kubernetes.
Telecommuting:
Position allows telecommuting. Applicant may reside anywhere in U.S. and reports to the Hayward, CA office. Any incurred business travel will be fully reimbursed.
Salary:
$140,000 to 190,000 per year
