Location - Albion, IN area - Columbia City, Ft Wayne, Ligonier, Kendallville, Churubusco, Garrett, Cromwell, Goshen IN
Pay Rate: $35.00/hour W2 +Benefits
On site 5 days a week at the Indiana plant, which makes plastic injection moldings, cooling systems and assembles them.
There are roughly 300 people working at that plant, 3 shifts, 5 days a week.
Understands ISO Management
Will be on shop floor most of the time, interacting with people, doing hazard assessments in the plant.
MUST be able to diplomatically call people out / write people up when not following safety/protocols or rules (this was a little bit of an issues with the person in the role previously; too nice)
Also, will help support security (meaning front door security outsourced to 3rd party, Allied Security) Needs to make sure they are also following company protocols
Job Description
Responsible for the implementation, administration, interpretation, and enforcement of safety &
environmental requirements including plant, Corporate, local, state and federal regulations.
Establish safety, security & environmental standards based on risk/hazard analysis to meet regulatory requirements and HSE management systems (ISO 14001, OSHA VPP, ISO 45000). Review of HSE incidents for root cause and establishment of corrective and preventative actions. Provide technical assistance with various plant staff functions.
Coordinate plant safety teams.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
HSE and Security related communication including training, safety alerts and production review
meetings.
Lead / take part in Incident Investigation facilitating root cause analysis and proper corrective and
preventative actions.
Participate in/lead plant emergency response teams.
Conduct hazard assessments of equipment/jobs to ensure they meet all applicable requirements.
Develop/revise HSE/Security related policies/procedures for the plant and drive implementation.
Lead HSE and security audits of key program areas to ensure compliance with regulatory and Norms.
Conducts formal reviews of new equipment, equipment modifications, or process changes.
Maintain documentation to meet norms and regulatory requirements.
Provide leadership and guidance to the facility safety teams.
Interact with state and federal agencies and consultants to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA and
other regulatory agencies requirements.
Ensures, maintains all necessary permits for Environmental and Regulatory Compliance.
Maintain documentation to meet ISO 45001 and 14000, company Norms and regulatory requirements.
Ensures that appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist.
Develops appropriate electronic and hard copy reports and records; may develop new or revise existing electronic or hard copy systems and makes internal and external presentations.
Promotes workplace safety, and assists in the development, maintenance, and management of HSE
programs at the site(s), including proactive incident and illness prevention, respiratory protection,
contractor safety, and hazardous chemical management.
Provide support for worker’s compensation claims including intake, investigation, reporting and return to work efforts.
Compiles, analyzes, maintains and interprets safety statistical data related to exposure factors
concerning occupational illnesses and accidents, first aid incidents, near miss records and conduct root cause analysis for accident reports and evaluate injury case studies.
Manage all different safety programs, conduct training and manage documentation, including but not
limited to: Lockout/Tagout, Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), Evacuation Procedures, PPE,
Pedestrian Safety, Ergonomics, Heat Stress, Bloodborne Pathogens.
Site security concepts and standards
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Occupational Safety or related degree
3+ years of HSE experience in a production or industrial facility preferred.
Must possess:
(1) the ability to identify, analyze, interpret, and resolve unusually complex management
and technical problems
(2) excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately document,
report and present findings
(3) the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
(4) excellent computer skills: MS Office Suite Applications.
Preferred:
Knowledge of Safety and Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001, OSHA VPP, ISO45001)
Security experience
