We are looking for a Finance Manager to be a driving force in our Corp FP&A team. This role will streamline our process and reporting to support management manage the resourcing and performance of the business. A collaborative team player with proactive communication and attention to detail are key requirements for this position.
About the Team
Auctane's Finance team is responsible for driving key strategic initiatives, generating insights into business performance, and leading financial decisions across the Company. We partner with Senior Management and business unit leaders by providing effective decision-making support to drive long-term business performance.
We are looking for a Finance Manager to be a driving force in our Corp FP&A team. This role will streamline our process and reporting to support management manage the resourcing and performance of the business. A collaborative team player with proactive communication and attention to detail are key requirements for this position.
****THIS POSITION IS LOCATED in Austin, TX and is on-site/in-office 3 Days a Week (Tues/Wed/Thurs).
The Finance Manager role will partner and become a trusted advisor and source of truth to Executives and Finance leaders on the topics of headcount, allocations and overall reporting. This individual will be responsible for increasing visibility and management of headcount forecast, planning and management as well designing and implementing department allocations in partnership with Accounting, HR and other members of the FP&A team.
What will you be doing?

  • Developing consistent and accurate reporting and improving consolidated reporting processes related to headcount, allocations or any other overall reporting requirements
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically about business problems while helping craft the story around the business
  • Guide partners on headcount and contractors planning and management, keeping controls to manage in and outs of actuals, forecast and budget, including headcount and contractor related expenses (bonus, payroll taxes, benefits, etc)
  • Dive deep, audit and articulate process for inter-department IT and Facilities allocation in addition to designing reporting to provide recurring visibility and provide recommendation on potential improvements
  • Lead other Finance members to design,control and drive process improvements and workflows
  • Proven ability to look beyond the numbers. Effective at cultivating diverse data outlets and connecting the information into a cohesive qualitative story.
  • Provide support to design and complete monthly Board slides
  • Create ad-hoc financial models and analysis to support specific project or initiatives
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial models to enhance their accuracy and usefulness
  • Partnering with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Corp Dev and HR team members with timely and accurate reporting from financial systems
  • Driving accurate and timely month-end close reporting and supporting the close process, timelines and financial system rollovers
  • Helping implement a monthly forecasting process, annual budget process and planning tool for the company
  • Subject matter expert on headcount, contractors, allocation
  • Partner with rest of Finance team on forecast expectations and understanding variances
  • Ad-hoc reporting to support management and board related questions
What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Minimum of six years of work experience preferably in a corporate finance or investment banking environment, or Private Equity
  • Experience in managing financials, headcount and department allocations (Facilities, IT, etc)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and advanced formulas
  • Experience working with Google Suite, including Slides, Docs, and Sheets
  • Self-motivated, mission-driven, team player, that embraces problem-solving and enthusiastic to learn and grow
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate complex financial ideas and analysis to non-finance stakeholders
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization and drive actionable recommendations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and identify innovative solutions to complex problems while exercising sound judgment in ambiguous situations
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all work.
  • Experience working with large datasets and financial systems such as Anaplan (preferred)
